What is an Autoclave and how does it work?

An autoclave is a pressure chamber that is used to sterilize equipment and supplies with high temperature steam which is around 121 degrees Celsius. The equipment and supplies that are sterilized in an autoclave are kept in their sterile pouches until they are used during the treatment of a new patient. The effectiveness of the autoclaves are being inspected via color-changing indicators. In each autoclaving process, the effectiveness of the pouch is tracked by the indicators that are put in the pouches.
