What is an Autoclave and how does it work?

An autoclave is a pressure chamber that is used to sterilize equipment and supplies with high temperature steam which is around 121 degrees Celsius. The equipment and supplies that are sterilized in an autoclave are kept in their sterile pouches until they are used during the treatment of a new patient. The effectiveness of the autoclaves are being inspected via color-changing indicators. In each autoclaving process, the effectiveness of the pouch is tracked by the indicators that are put in the pouches.

Does teeth whitening damage the teeth? Is it a painful process?

Teeth whitening is a safe application that is being used for a very long time. It might cause a slight sensitivity for 24-48 hours after the application. But this is a temporary sensitivity which will fade away within 48 hours. Using the toothpaste suggested by your dentist or having a fluoride application will help you to feel less sensitivity.

Can dental fillings be applied on primary teeth? If not filled, do they damage the permanent teeth?

– Primary teeth start to come in (erupt) at about 6 months of age and the complete set of primary teeth are formed around 2-2.5 years of age. Shortly after age 4, the jaw and facial bones of the child begins to grow, creating spaces between the primary teeth. This is a perfectly natural growth process that provides the necessary space for the larger permanent teeth to emerge.
